Entitle Newspaper

July 2, 2018

A festival celebrating the arts, culture and design of the North East called The Great Exhibition of the North was held in June - September 2018.

Through Entitle Magazine I put a call out for artists to take part in an independently published newspaper that would be distributed for free around galleries in Newcastle namely: Baltic, Side Gallery, Newbridge Gallery, Workplace, Vane Gallery, The Biscuit Factory, Northern Charter and further afield in the Whitworth Gallery and Open Eye Gallery.

The artist selected to be part of the newspaper were; Iam Burn, Bryony Good, Steve Hunt, Andera Allan, Hayleigh Longman, Chlo Elizabeth.

A copy of the newspaper is now part of the Baltic Archives and in the Newsprint Photobook online archive and collection.

Don't Give Up The Day Job

January 27, 2018

I approached Redeye about running an event that would be aimed towards people such as myself who have a day job but also do their practice alongside it. I think there is a stigma attached to working a day job and not being an artist full time, but I wanted to change this mindset and try to get people to see the positives, the skills that they can transfer from one into the other.

The event was run in partnership with Castlefield Gallery and Manchester Craft and Design Centre. It was a day of talks, discussions and workshops aimed at artists, photographers and makers.

The speakers, other than myself, were Amy Wilkinson, Sam Curtis, Susan Jones and Julie McCalden.
